Schrattenberg

The Lower Austrian municipality of Schrattenberg near Poysdorf belongs to the district of Mistelbach. It is located in the Weinviertel region - right on the border with the Czech Republic. Schrattenberg was first mentioned in a document in 1184, but finds from the Bronze Age show that the settlement of the village began much earlier.

Experiences in Schrattenberg: hike, look, marvel

The hilly, loess-covered terrain of the village is covered with vines and fertile fields. Well-marked footpaths and cycle paths lead through the vineyards, forests and wine cellar lanes.

A special - and particularly healthy - idea is the cross-border barefoot trail: the 5-kilometre trail, which is suitable for young and old feet alike, leads from Schrattenberg to the neighboring Czech town of Valtice and back again. Along the circular trail, 11 stations convey different sensory impressions.

The Schrattenberg foam mill invites you on an interesting journey through time: Built in 1921, the flour mill is happy to tell its decades of history to visitors of all ages. Guided tours are available by appointment.
