Popis
Not far from the Czech border, the Pascher family built a house over twenty years ago and began to create a garden overgrown with nettles and old fruit trees that was close to nature. When the first "Nature in the Garden" competitions were launched, Erika Pascher was certain that she had long since fulfilled all the criteria and won the district competition at the first attempt.this show garden is located in an inner courtyard typical of the Waldviertel. From the flowering herb bed to the "wild corner", there is a great variety in a small space. There is always something in bloom here: in summer, phlox and coneflowers shine and the lavender is fragrant. Sweet fruit such as currants, gooseberries, raspberries and blackberries provide a sweet snack in between.
"My garden is completely different," says Erika Pascher confidently. "I collect old enamel crockery and grandmother's cake tins, which we place decoratively all over the garden and sometimes even plant." And she adds mischievously: "We have mug trees growing here." Many of the old beetles are filled with straw and hung on branched sticks - a paradise for beneficial insects in tiers, a high-rise for beneficial insects, you could say.
