Detaily pro: Lainzer Tiergarten route

Krátký popis

A beautiful but not easy circular route around the quiet Lainzer Tiergarten!

Popis

The Lainzer Tiergarten route runs approximately 24 kilometers once around the Lainzer Tiergarten and offers numerous scenic as well as cultural highlights. The route starts at the Nikolai Gate and runs along the historic wall of the former imperial hunting grounds. The ascent to the Dreihufeisenberg (518 m) is the highest point of the tour and rewards with an impressive view. Another highlight is the view of the Habsburgwarte on the Kaltbründlberg, which is not directly on the route but clearly visible from various points. In addition to cultural sights, the route also offers nature experiences, as the Lainzer Tiergarten as a nature reserve is home to a rich wildlife with wild boars, deer and mouflons. The varied mix of asphalt, gravel, and forest paths makes this route both a sporting challenge and particularly scenic.

Popis trasy Lainzer Tiergarten route

The longest wall in Vienna, namely that of the Lainzer Tiergarten, is the defining element of this route in the 13th district. However, anyone who thinks of concrete and monotony is mistaken. The nature of the Tiergarten continues outside the wall in places. There are several challenging bike sections along the way, and within reach, the planets of our solar system. Starting at the Lainzer Gate, we circle the Tiergarten clockwise and must also climb the Dreihufeisenberg in between.

Výstroj

A safe and functional mountain bike is a prerequisite for all routes. Helmet and gloves protect in case of falls and can be supplemented with knee and elbow pads for single/shared trails. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and sufficient tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails from the red difficulty level, a full suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, tire levers, pump, and spare tube help in case of a breakdown. Enough provisions (drinks and food) should also be carried, as well as a mobile phone and wind/rain jacket.

Bezpečnostní informace

Check the functionality of brakes, tires and suspension fork/damper before every ride. Always ride with hazard awareness and at controlled speed and adapt the route choice to the riding skills of the group and the surface. The Fair Play rules must always be observed. Single/shared trails as well as built routes in trail parks and trail centers increasingly feature stones, roots, steep sections, steps and steep curves that require a certain riding skill. If in doubt, simply dismount and push the bike.
