Felsformation bei Altmelon

Popis

The impressive rock formations near Altmelon captivate visitors with their unique appearance. Huge granite blocks lie on top of each other seemingly at random, forming man-sized caves that provide an insight into the prehistoric history of the region. The location of the granite remnants is particularly fascinating: embedded in mossy, shady coniferous forests, they appear mysterious and unspoiled at the same time.

Several hiking trails lead to the rocks or pass them. The Luaga-Lucka trail is almost six kilometers long and offers the opportunity to experience the rocks up close on a circular route of around two and a half hours. The popular Bärentrail long-distance hiking trail also runs partly through Altmelon and can be wonderfully combined with a visit to the granite formations. A particularly rewarding vantage point is at the forest chapel, from where you can enjoy a sweeping view over the Weinsberg Forest.

The Luaga Lucka is a highlight among the rocks. The piled-up rock giants almost seem to sway and form a cave with several rooms, including the "Kuchl" and the "Liegestatt". Archaeologists suspect that the cave was once used as a shelter or hiding place, which makes the place even more exciting. Hikers and nature lovers appreciate the mixture of mystical atmosphere, impressive natural scenery and interesting history that makes the rocks of Altmelon an unforgettable destination.
