Gaaden
The municipality of Gaaden in the district of Mödling lies in the Vienna Woods at the foot of the Anninger - in a wide valley basin through which the Mödlingbach stream flows. It was first mentioned in a document in 1376. Known for its timber and lime production, the village was also a popular destination for Viennese "summer visitors" in the 19th century: great artists such as Ferdinand Raimund liked to spend their vacations in Gaaden.
To this day, the village invites you to take a break in the countryside - with historically significant sights and charming cycling and hiking trails. Traditional events from village festivals and wine taverns to the Advent mile round off the experience in the countryside.
