Mödling

Mödling is the district capital of the Lower Austrian district of the same name. As the former seat of a Babenberg line, Mödling is still known today as the "Babenberg town". The municipality is characterized by the hills of the Vienna Woods and the wine-growing area of the Thermenregion Vienna Woods. Mödling also offers wonderful hiking, running and mountain bike trails as well as the municipal swimming pool, where you can splash around. Interesting sights and numerous restaurants and accommodation round off the offer.

Mödling: The most beautiful excursion destinations
It is no coincidence that great artists such as Beethoven, Schönberg and Schubert have stayed here in the past - and found inspiration for their work. Beethoven, for example, dedicated his "Mödlinger Tänze" to the town. Today, the Beethoven Memorial Museum in the Hafnerhaus commemorates the great composer. Other museums include the Mödling Museum in the Thonetschlössl, the home of composer Arnold Schönberg, the Gallery in the Town Hall and the Folklore and Tram Museum. The impressive parish church of St. Othmar is also worth a visit: it was demonstrably built on six predecessor churches, which were erected one after the other from the 9th century onwards.

Leisure & culture in Mödling
Whether it's a hike to the ruins of Mödling Castle or the Hussar Temple in the Föhrenberge Nature Park, the farmers' market in the old town or the Medieval Advent, the stadium or the municipal theater: Mödling is a particularly diverse place to live - and vacation. In addition, traditional festivals, great markets, concerts and family events take place throughout the year.
