Detaily pro: 2-day pleasure hike from Puchberg to Pernitz

Krátký popis

This enjoyable two-day route connects Puchberg/Schneeberg and Pernitz via the Regional Route P and the path on the Wiener Alpenbogen.

Popis

From the air spa Puchberg/Schneeberg, the enjoyable hiking tip leads along Regional Route P to Losenheim and to the Edelweißhütte at the foot of the Fadensteig at Schneeberg. After a refreshment, gentle ascents on the Wiener Alpenbogen path pass over Mamauwiese to the rugged rock walls of Schober and Öhler. The night is spent at Öhlerschutzhaus (closed Monday, Tuesday). On the second day, the Wiener Alpenbogen leads over Dürre Wand to Gauermannhütte (open Saturday, Sunday, and holidays), downhill to Waidmannsfeld and to the end of the route in Pernitz in the far-from-boring Piestingtal, also affectionately called Biedermeiertal.

Popis trasy 2-day pleasure hike from Puchberg to Pernitz

The enjoyable two-day route starts at the Puchberg am Schneeberg train station, where we walk back a few meters beside the tracks to Wiener Neustädter Straße. Ahead of us, we see the certified Hotel Schneeberghof hiking operation. At this hiking hotel, guests stay overnight if arriving the day before and start the day with a delicious hiking breakfast. At the road, we turn north, cross the railway tracks, shortly afterwards turn left into Siebertweg, and follow the yellow signposts towards Losenheim. From here, the red-marked Burgenland Mariazellerweg accompanies us for a few kilometers. At the end of Siebertweg, we turn right into Paradiesweg and seconds later walk left into Römerweg. At some rest benches, a signpost leads us half-right off the road over a meadow. We then walk westwards on peaceful asphalt and gravel roads until the Mariazellerweg leaves us at an intersection with a transformer station by turning right. We follow the asphalt road to the left, which after two curves leads into the road to Losenheim. In the settlement Sonnleiten, we follow the road to Wasserfallwirt but shortly afterwards leave it at a gravel parking lot by a farmyard, cross the Sebastianbach stream to the left, and orient ourselves by the yellow marking. Step by step, we get closer to Schneeberg, inevitably landing again on the road to Losenheim. On the left towers the Losenheim ruin, reconstructed by private hands since the 1990s. A visit is possible from five persons by telephone arrangement. We reach the village Losenheim with the Forellenhof hiking hotel and walk uphill along the road to the parking lot of the Schneeberg chairlift. From here there is the option to shorten the ascent by chairlift. However, we hike uphill to the end of the road and follow the yellow-marked and signposted ascent path to the Edelweißhütte. After several switchbacks in the forest, uphill sections on ski slopes, and crossing a meadow, the gravel road briefly flattens. On the left is the Edelweißhütte at the foot of the Fadensteig, which invites year-round for rest and refreshments. The further path leads us with our backs to Schneeberg past Almreserlhaus on the marked main path of the Wiener Alpenbogen over the Dürre Leiten to Mamauwiese. Here, we briefly meet the Mariazellerweg again, which crosses Mamauwiese westward on a verified Roman road. We take the marked path east to the Öhler shelter. Over a meadow path, we cross a small ridge before a fantastic view of Schober and Öhler opens up. Descending gently, we walk over gentle meadows to the gravel road and turn right here. Past Schoberhof, we turn left off the road by a refreshing spring and follow the marked hiking path steadily ascending under the Öhler rock walls to Öhlerschutzhaus. Here, we end the day comfortably, look forward to a restful night and a strengthening breakfast the next morning (Monday, Tuesday closed).

After a warm farewell, we continue on the Wiener Alpenbogen with today's endpoint Pernitz. From Öhlerschutzhaus, we follow the marked ridge path gently ascending through the forest with few views to Katharinenschlag. From the east side of the highest point of Dürre Wand, we often look towards Hohe Wand. Together with the red-marked Nordalpenweg and the Piestingtal circular hiking route, meadow and forest paths lead gently downhill to the Gauermannhütte at the rocky Plattenstein (open Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays). We hike northeast on the beautiful ridge path, passing near Tablerhöhe continuing downhill. At the saddle south of Martersberg, we follow the footpath on the right and follow it above the settlement Ungerberg to a cart path. Here we turn left, initially going a few meters uphill before hiking northward downhill, keeping right on the cart path towards Waidmannsfeld. At a small saddle, there is the option to turn right onto the forest road to Michlwirt. We continue on the Wiener Alpenbogen. About ten minutes later, near the edge of the forest, we turn left and descend the meadow over Waidmannsbach to the road at Waidmannsfeld. We keep left here, shortly afterwards turn half-right into Auweg and hike on blue-marked hiking trails to Ochsenheide. We reach the connecting road Pernitz-Waidmannsfeld and walk 500 meters along the road northwards. After a parking lot, we switch to a forest path and shortcut the road, but before Neusiedl, we rejoin the road. We follow the main road through the village and reach B21 at Pernitz after a few minutes. On the right, the Pernitz-Muggendorf station is visible. The town center is located slightly right of B21 shortly after.

Tip autora

Either arrive in the morning and stay overnight at Öhlerschutzhaus, or for a later arrival set up the night camp at Edelweißhütte. Plan accordingly more time for the second day. A specialty of Öhlerschutzhaus are the self-titled Öhler dumplings. Peak collectors can attack the peaks of Öhler (not directly recognizable as a peak) and Schober (summit cross, summit book) from the hut.
