Popis
Tip/Fun Fact: Dry grasslands represent a particularly protected habitat. The association "Friends of the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide" ensures their preservation. They are supported by the sheep from the Sonnleitner organic farm, which graze there.
A very nice but quite long hike. There are plenty of opportunities to stop at huts. Partly superb panorama (Franz-Ferdinand Shelter).

Popis trasy Circular hike around the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide
Our hike begins at the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide parking lot. We follow the path straight ahead until we reach a T-junction. We turn left and after a few meters, right again, continuing on the blue-white marked path. At the next fork, we go right and soon arrive at a junction. After a detour to the Kammerstein Ruins, we hike back up the same way. Now we go right towards the Franz Ferdinand Shelter (red-white). Once at the top, we follow the green-white marking. We go straight and stay on the main path (red-white, purple-white), arriving at a large junction where we first keep left, then take the lower path towards Kaltenleutgeben. We reach an asphalt road, turn right, and hike alongside the Steinbruchsee to Kaltenleutgebner Straße. There, we follow the signposts to the Wiener Shelter (left then immediately right). Upon arrival, we keep right in the forest and follow the blue-white marked path. After about 3 km (school with sports field on the left), we turn right and then immediately left again. Passing the church, we go down Willergasse, cross the railway, and turn right into Waldmühlgasse. We reach a fork, keep left, and thus ascend again towards Perchtoldsdorfer Heide. From now on, it goes over the heath back towards the parking lot.
