Popis trasy Hauer Route

The bike route starts at the parking lot of the MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach. Mistelbach can be reached by public transport – both train and bus. After arrival, only a 15-minute walk separates you from the starting point. In Mistelbach, you should visit the MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach and the Nitsch Museum.

From Mistelbach, you cycle on the wine bike path "Sylvaner" past Ebendorf to Wilfersdorf. Here, the inn Neunläuf invites you to enjoy delicacies made from regional products. In the Liechtenstein Castle Wilfersdorf, you can visit a local history museum – from prehistoric times to today. Directly in front of the castle, there is a children's playground, so the little ones can also enjoy a change from the bike trip.

You then cycle on via Bullendorf, Ebersdorf an der Zaya, and Walterskirchen to Poysdorf. The Gasthaus Bayer in Walterskirchen is known for its pastries and invites you to take a break. You can also visit one of the many establishments in Poysdorf. You should definitely take a look at the Wine and Grape World as well as the "Kellergstetten".

From Poysdorf, the bike path continues via Wilhelmsdorf to Kleinhadersdorf. Here, you should definitely plan a detour to the ostrich farm in Wetzelsdorf. You can both buy products and experience these two-legged giants up close. Now you cycle on to Eibesthal. You can make a short stop at the village tavern Eibesthal, the Heurigen Strobl, or the winery Faber-Köchl.

Passing the Dionysos Path, which ends shortly before the entrance to Mistelbach and offers a wonderful view, it goes back to the starting point in Mistelbach. You can end the bike ride with specialties from the restaurants "Diesner" and "Zur Linde." Those who prefer it traditional can stop at one of the Buschenschänkes in Mistelbach and try a typical snack plate from the Weinviertel with a glass of Weinviertel DAC.

Tip autora

After about 24 km, you reach the wine town of Poysdorf. Perfect for a short break at one of the numerous winemakers or Buschenschank establishments. The VinoVersum Poysdorf offers many leisure activities around grapes and wine. A cellar lane tour, which brings you closer to the journey from grape to wine, is highly recommended. A small tasting of our Weinviertel DAC at the end of the tour, of course, should not be missed.
