Built in 1630 as a Renaissance residence, it was turned into one of the country's leading hotels by the Thiery family, who own it. The well-kept, historical ambience, coupled with the magic of a 400-year-old castle and modern service, offers a unique atmosphere. Each room is a world of its own, some with vaulted ceilings, others with fine parquet floors and antique furniture. The view of the passing Danube and the vineyards stretching to the horizon is breathtaking. Massages, an outdoor and indoor pool as well as a sauna and infrared cabin are available for relaxation. The Schloss Dürnstein restaurant offers Austrian and international cuisine at the highest level. Depending on the weather, meals are served on the Danube terrace with winter garden or in the stylish interior of the castle.
