Popis trasy Öko-Dorf-Weg, No. 91

You start your hike at the municipal office in Jaidhof heading west and reach the Edenbühel settlement or the Ökodorf settlement, from which the hiking trail also gets its name. At the Ökodorf settlement, keep left, hike up a meadow path and continue along the forest edge to the Lusthausweg. Turn right there to the B32, then about 100 meters left, then right again on the paved municipal road through the Eisenbergeramt with wide views to the Horner basin, to the Schauenstein ruin and much more. You pass the goat enclosure to the Fischerplatz with the Trinity chapel. From here, a detour to the "Gartenhummel" is worth it – in the farm shop of the Föls family you will find a wide selection of herbs, fruit spreads, chutneys, syrups, salts, and teas harvested and processed on their own farm. The path continues into the Kalten Graben. The name is due to the fact that in this valley by the Bruchetbach it can be very cool in summer and icy cold in winter. The artist Othmar Komarek also has his home in the Kalten Graben. After the Kalten Graben, keep left. The path leads up to a high plateau, from where you can already see the destination, Jaidhof Castle. However, you continue to the Drescherteich, which you bypass on the left, passing an old forester's house, a beautiful hollow path with an orchard alley until you reach the "Alte Eishaus", a local museum, and the destination, the municipal office Jaidhof.

Tip autora

There is a stopover option in Jaidhof at the Schlosstaverne Kargl. Since all paths are well paved and developed, cleared in winter, very well signposted, and wide enough, it is also possible to complete the route with larger groups by bike or explore the circular hiking route by running.
