From Waidhofen/Ybbs, the route follows the Ybbs River upstream through the Ybbstal Alps to the lunch stop in Langau at the Gasthof zum Schützenwirt. The route continues through the Ötscherland and to the highest peak, the Zellerrain. Then quickly downhill to the idyllic Erlaufsee and you are already in Mariazell with its impressive basilica. One last climb to Gschaid and the final descent to the stage destination St. Aegyd am Neuwalde.
The second day begins with the mountain climb to Kalte Kuchl and a long descent to Rohr im Gebirge. Via Klausbach, Gutenstein, and the quiet Piesting and later Miesenbach valleys, you reach the lunch break at the Landgasthof zur Schubertlinde in Grünbach am Schneeberg. Well fortified, it continues very hilly through the Schneebergland toward the southeast into the Bucklige Welt to the final destination in Krumbach.
