Detaily pro: The Beethoven Circular Hiking Trail

Krátký popis

The Beethoven Trail - In the footsteps of Ludwig van Beethoven, Emperor Franz I., and countless other connoisseurs.... The circular hiking trail is the lesser-known but more spectacular part of the Beethoven hiking trail. Here we move on paths that, in long sections, were actually walked by the artist.

Popis

With regard to the Beethoven year 2020, the Beethoven circular hiking trail, which was created in the 1980s, was renovated under the leadership of Wienerwald Touristik and the Baden section of the ÖTK as the western part of the Beethoven hiking trail. Route corrections included. Despite the shortening to 26 km, it remains challenging and has lost none of its appeal. For those who want it even shorter, alternatives are available. Those who seek the connection to the Beethoven walking path are recommended the attractive Beethoven Panorama Trail.

Popis trasy The Beethoven Circular Hiking Trail

There are several entry points to the Beethoven Circular Hiking Trail such as Bad Vöslau, the Cholerakapelle, or the Augustinerhütte. We choose Hotel Sacher in Helenental, cross the Schwechat there and hike on the "Wegerl im Helenental" past the Cholerakapelle to the Augustinerhütte. From here, we climb the "Steiniger Weg" up to the hospitable Schutzhaus at Hohen Lindkogel. Afterwards, we pass through the "Eiserne Tor" and descend via the Brennersteig to a saddle with a junction. Here, we keep to the right and reach the foot of the mountain via Brezelbuche, Herrgottsbuche, and Opfersteine. Then we turn left towards the east and over Granerbründl to the Vöslau Beethoven memorial stone. Immediately after, the path leads left to the Sonnenweg, which we follow only until the road to the Vöslau Hut. Via Steinbruchgasse, we reach the federal road Gainfarn - Berndorf, where we turn left uphill and reach Bad Vöslau Kurpark via Berg- and Oberkirchengasse. We keep straight at the roundabout and reach the Waldandacht via Flora- and Waldandachtstraße. We then continue always through forest past Sooß to the Rauheneck ruin, from which we descend to the Schwechat near the Eugenvilla close to our starting point.

The connecting path to the Beethoven walking path, the Beethoven Panorama Trail, which we meet in Kupark Baden above the Beethoven temple, is also highly recommended. For this, we ascend past the St. Helena chapel and the Rauhenstein ruin to the Rainerweg, which we follow keeping right to Faberhöhe. There we descend to the museum and then follow the path towards Seerosenteich, but soon leave this path to the right and first descend to the Felsenweg and from there to the Kurpark and the connection point.

Tip autora

Those who want to shorten the circular hiking trail have several options.

  1. If you do not want to stop at the Augustinerhütte, you can already climb up to the Steiniger Weg at the Beethovenradbrücke.
  2. If you want to skip Bad Vöslau, then keep straight at the lower end of the Brennersteig and reach the Jägerhaus on the blue marking. From there, initially follow the long-distance hiking trail 04 keeping to the left to the Schwechat, where you encounter the original path again at the Eugenvilla.
  3. You can reach the Waldandacht faster in Bad Vöslau by following red markings through the Kurpark at the east end of Oberkirchengasse.
