Donau Rollfähre Korneuburg-Klosterneuburg GesmbH
Lodní převozPopis
The Danube Rolling Ferry Korneuburg-Klosterneuburg GesmbH offers a unique and environmentally friendly way to cross the Danube.
The ferry, a yaw rope ferry, uses the current of the river for transportation, making it a particularly environmentally friendly option. It travels between the banks of Korneuburg and Klosterneuburg without the use of a motor. Instead, a rope, the so-called yaw rope, and the current pressure of the river are used. The two outboard motors are purely for safety and allow the ferry to maneuver independently of the current in an emergency.
The ferry is an impressive example of the use of natural resources and at the same time offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of the Danube.
The ferry season runs from the end of March to the beginning of November, with operating times varying depending on sunset.
The crossing takes approximately three to five minutes.
The speed of travel depends on the water level and therefore the flow speed of the Danube.
As all large ships have priority, there may also be short waiting times when a ship passes by.
A visit to the ferry is an unforgettable experience and a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.
