Weingut FJ Gritsch und Weinerlebniswelt Mauritiushof

The FJ Gritsch winery is located directly on the church square in Spitz an der Donau in the middle of the UNESCO World Hertige site Wachau. Built in the 13th century, the estate has combined ancient winemaking tradition with the latest developments since its inception. For over 200 years, our family has been able to dedicate itself to viticulture within these historic walls.

Working in our winery is like commuting between two worlds. Here is the Mauritiushof on Spitzer Kirchenplatz with around 800 years of history, extended since September 2022 by a modern annex with a "wine experience world", a little further on is the kalmuck cellar with state-of-the-art technology.

It goes without saying that tradition, old values and traditional knowledge play a major role at the FJ Gritsch winery. But it is also clear that tradition alone is not enough to achieve the top quality of today. That is why everything is always in motion at the FJ Gritsch winery.
