Weingut Günter Wenzl

The Günter Wenzl winery is located in the picturesque Matzner Hügelland, one of the four sub-areas of the Weinviertler Hügelland. This part of Lower Austria is known for its dry climate, which is reminiscent of the Pannonian climate. The wine village of Matzen, situated in a valley basin of the Wagram, separates the Weinviertel hill country from the Marchfeld. The extensive south-facing slopes not only characterize the townscape, but together with the favorable loess soils and the climate tempered by the large forest area, form the basis for the outstanding wine quality. The red wine produced here has always proven to be a top Austrian product. The range includes white wines, red wines and rosé wines, including the typical Grüne Veltliner. A visit to the winery offers the opportunity to enjoy some of the best wines from the vinotheque in the in-house vaulted cellar.
