Weingut Schneider

The Schneider winery is located in Röschitz, in the western Weinviertel, and covers nine hectares of vineyards. Typical of the region, Grüne Veltliner is the main variety grown on the estate, accounting for around 80 percent and vinified in six different stages of development. Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also ripen to top quality on loess and primary rock soils. The soil conditions due to the geographical proximity to the Waldviertel give the wines a specific mineral note and delicacy. The winery's best Veltliners grow on vines up to 50 years old in the renowned Röschitz vineyards such as Galgenberg and Hundspoint.

Through intensive foliage work and yield reduction, high-quality grapes are harvested every year. The grapes are gently processed and then fermented in chilled steel tanks. The Chardonnay and the powerful Veltliner are matured in large wooden barrels. Numerous awards, such as winning the "Falstaff Grüne Veltliner Grand Prix" and being included several times in the SALON Österreich Wein, confirm the high quality of the wines.
