Weingut Setzer

Hans and Uli Setzer belong to the generation of Austrian winemakers who have elevated wine to a lifestyle. Making and enjoying wine is both a passion and a challenge for them. This is why the two viticultural engineers combine the tradition of their parents with state-of-the-art cellar technology.

The Setzer winery in Hohenwarth at the foot of the Manhartsberg cultivates 30 hectares of the best vineyards. The village lies at just under 400 meters above sea level and is one of the highest wine-growing villages in Lower Austria - significantly higher than the neighbouring regions of Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) and Wagram. This area around Hohenwarth is particularly predestined for white wines, especially Veltliner. It is therefore rightly held in high esteem at the family winery! The Roter Veltliner grape variety, a rare white wine variety, has also always been at home in Hohenwarth, and the wines of the Setzer winery have conquered the world from Hohenwarth. They can be found from the Steirereck restaurant in Vienna to Wolfgang Puck's Spago restaurant in Los Angeles.
