Weingut Stierschneider

Vinař

Popis

The Stierschneider family has been running the winery as a family business since 1822. Today's main house was built in 3 stages, each with an adjoining cellar section. The estate was run as a mixed economy (self-sufficient) until 1964, when the last piece of cattle, which was also the last in the village, was removed. The first tractor (Holder) was purchased in 1960 and the first car (Opel Caravan) in 1962. A tree press was used until 1975. A part of the tree trunk, from which 3 press trees were made, can still be found today in the Heinrich Weixelbaum family's wine tavern.

The winery is of course also a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus area protection association, which was founded in 1983 as an association of Wachau winegrowers.

"The optimal grape variety in the right locations and perfecting the potential of the vineyard right into the glass", that is our motto.
