Weingut Werner Grolly

Werner Grolly's winery is located at the foot of the Manhartsberg in Obermarkersdorf and is geographically located exactly between the two wine towns of Retz and Pulkau. The vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüne Veltliner, Sauvignon blanc, Riesling, Pinot blanc, Chardonnay, Gelber Muskateller, Goldmuskateller, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot blanc, Rösler and Cabernet franc.
The gentle hills of the landscape and the climatic influence of the Manhartsberg characterize the liveliness of the wines. The cool night-time air currents from the Waldviertel contribute to the formation of pleasant acidity, resulting in wines with citrus notes, peach aromas and an accentuated freshness on the palate. The influence of the Pannonian climate in combination with lime-free loamy clay, brown earth and primary rock soils allows the vines to thrive wonderfully. This results in wines with dense fullness, a fine, multi-layered texture, subtle minerality and a beautiful finish.
