Since Franz Zottl Jr. has been 100% responsible for the winery, which has been family-owned for generations, his fresh, dynamic ideas have been a source of enthusiasm. The young winemaker, who took over the helm in the cellar and vineyard several years ago, presses varietal and site-specific wines with delicate, fruit-driven elegance from his top sites in Achleiten, Steinriegel and Hinterkirchen, which are exposed to the south. This has already been proven by a number of awards in which the up-and-coming winegrower is always at the forefront. The estate currently cultivates 7.5 hectares, with Grüne Veltliner being the most important variety ahead of Riesling. The winery's specialties include Muskateller and the bottle-fermented Wachau sparkling wine.
The estate also enjoys an excellent reputation as a comfortable place to stay. Six fully equipped rooms are available for guests. The rich breakfast buffet under the enchanting vine arbor is always a delight. A little insider tip is the Buschenschank (typical tavern), which is open twice a year, where you can not only taste the hotel's own wines, but also enjoy culinary homemade specialties such as smoked trout, roast pork and various spreads.
Tip: The romantic ambience is also ideal for atmospheric family celebrations of all kinds (weddings, christenings, etc.).
