Kapelle Parkfried
Kostel
Popis
The Parkfrieder chapel, which stands at the entrance to the house, is the largest chapel in the parish.
With a floor plan of 500x780cm and a height of 620cm and four benches on both sides in the interior, it is an impressive house of prayer. During the renovation in 1985 by Josef and Juliana Radl, the light ochre coloring of the outer walls was interrupted by the dark door and window frames and the fluted column dummies or the cornice. After the new renovation in 2005, the overall impression is friendlier because the previously dark parts are now white. The painting in the interior has also been renewed: the patterned surface is now monochrome and light. The dark "sky" with its slight curvature stands out elegantly. The 3m long altar area is a few centimeters narrower on the outside than the front part and is also slightly lower on the inside. The final arch towards the altar bears the inscription "Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us" and the details of the 1926 renovation, which were not altered during subsequent renovations: Renov. 1926 J. J. Radl. Mrs. Juliana Radl reports that the painter from 1985 did not want to paint over these dates because they were so beautifully written. In the large chancel is the altar table with a 1m high Lourdes Madonna. In 2020, the chapel was completely renovated by the owner family Gertraud and Hermann Radl and shines again in vibrant colors. During the construction of the chapel paths in Biberbach in September 2022, an enamel plaque with a text by Marianne Pichlmann was placed next to the chapel.
Tip: The Biberbach chapel trails lead to the most beautiful chapels and shrines in the municipality. The Parkfried Chapel can be visited along the Parkfried Chapel Trail of the same name.
