Popis
The unusual nature conservation project "Dragonfly Pond", which Hengl implemented in 2003, was created around the centuries-old "Old Cow" wobble stone. A stone ring modeled on Stonehenge was erected there. Next to the energetic stone circle, an 800 m² pond was created to protect dragonflies, which are threatened with extinction. In addition, newts, yellow burnet beetles and green lizards have also settled in and around the pond. The earth wall at the dragonfly pond is also new. This is a stone wall that has been heaped up as a sunbathing area, hiding place and winter quarters for reptiles. A large snack table is available for hiking breaks or simply to relax. The tabletop made of Waldviertel granite weighs almost six tons and is held in place by four stone blocks. The wooden benches - supported by stone baskets - invite you to linger.
