Founded by Eva and Franz Stanislaus Mrkvicka in 2013
The gallery and its program have finally arrived in Lower Austria's art scene. Artists are also increasingly taking up the offer to work in Zöbing and maintain contacts with regional artists and institutions.
To kick off this year's exhibition, the Zöbing Summer Gallery is showing works from the "Diurnes", the wonderful collaboration between Pablo Picasso and André Villers. These magnificent collotype prints, published by Heinz Berggruen, are followed by a photographic illusion by Violetta Wakolbinger, based on spatial situations in Altenburg Abbey. Laurentius Sauer continues the "Master Students of the Munich Academy in Residence" series with painterly poetry on paper. With the photographic works of Maarten Rots from Amsterdam, which he continues during his stay in Zöbing, he transforms the three-dimensional appearance of the photographs into flat geometry. Finally, the Zöbing Summer Gallery is showing "Homage to Alberto Giacometti", a new edition of the homage to this great artist shown in 2006 by Franz S. Mrkvicka at the Horst Stauber exhibition space in Passau.
