Traiskirchen City Museum

Tour after tour - by bike & on foot The tours include the cycle tour on the trail of the 12 former mills in the town area ("Mühlbach-Connection"), Time Travel 1 (guided tour around the main square and the town center), Time Travel 2 (walk through the former Art Nouveau district around the elementary school up to the cadet school) and Time Travel 3 through Tribuswinkel. The museum and the TWFV are looking forward to introducing many more visitors to the history of Traiskirchen.

The Traiskirchen Museum has been housed in the buildings of the former Möllersdorf worsted spinning mill since 1988. 4,000 m² of exhibition space give visitors a taste of the flair of the industrial age and a chance to discover many interesting things from everyday life in times gone by.

The "museum for the whole family" has a large number of collections:

• in the toy collection, everything revolves and moves around Matador, the popular wooden construction set, in the fire department museum, old equipment and vehicles can be marveled at
• the Semperit Museum sheds light on an important period in the city's own history. Objects from industry, viticulture, education, archaeology and nature are also on display here. Special collections of the museum are shown in the changing special exhibitions

Seal of approval for Museum Traiskirchen

The Austrian Museum Seal of Approval is the highest award for high-quality work that Austria's museum landscape has to offer. A total of 299 museums in the country can boast this accolade. In 2021, the Museum Traiskirchen was once again awarded the Austrian Museum Seal of Quality. Director Karin Weber-Rektorik and local councillor Robert Eichinger were in Graz at the beginning of October 2021 to receive the award.

Our museum can therefore carry the badge for another five years until the International Council of Museums (ICOM) will once again apply its strict inspection criteria. The award is public proof that the museum takes responsibility for preserving its cultural heritage and, above all, for making the museum collection accessible to the general public in a scientifically sound manner.
