Popis

Marktplatz 3 in Kottes in the Zwettl district is a scenic spot of the most enjoyable kind. The two innkeepers Silvia and Franz Schrammel have been pursuing their vocation here at the Gasthof zur Kirche since 2010. The history of the establishment goes back as far as 1969. The cooking is traditional and the connection to the region is clear to see. Waldviertel specialties such as homemade meat and grammel dumplings, crispy fried carp from the Waldviertel ponds and roast onions are characteristic of this inn. The game dishes also demonstrate the high level of culinary skill. It's tavern cuisine like it used to be - just a little bit better. The authentic dishes are always served with dedication. The ambience is worthy of a traditional inn. The modernized ballroom is a popular venue for family celebrations and tour groups.

Beer tub in the Waldviertel

In addition to Waldviertel specialties, everything at Gasthof zur Kirche revolves around beer: the regional barley juices are delicious, as are the beer dishes and menus. But the Schrammel family goes one step further. The cozy inn also offers a beer bath weekend. After a dip in the beer tub, wellness offers with a hay bed or steam room as well as massages await. A good night's sleep is guaranteed in the nine themed rooms to choose from. Guests can explore this up-and-coming tourist region with fresh energy. Popular excursion destinations include the Waldviertel Poppy Village and the Haider Whisky Distillery experience.
