Detaily pro: OÖ Mariazellerweg: C: 2nd stage: St. Florian - Haag

Krátký popis

On this particularly charming section of the Mariazell Pilgrimage Route, we are traveling between the historically significant settlement areas of St. Florian near Linz and Haag.

Popis

From the impressive St. Florian Monastery, we start this hike by passing through the so-called Jubilee Avenue. The monastery quickly becomes smaller in the distance and we reach the hill at Kogl, where there is a beautiful rest area and a chapel, as well as an old forest with mighty oaks. At Unterweidlham, we pass the locally typical four-sided farms in the gentle hilly landscape and walk along a tree-lined creek until we reach a hamlet with the interesting name "Plank zu Mausbach." Here, at a crossroads, there is a chapel and a monument (erected in honor of the 1700th anniversary of the death year of the regional patron Florian). After a longer hike through the sparsely populated areas around St. Florian, we finally arrive at Hausmanning and from there take a beautiful forest path to Hargelsberg. Opposite the parish church of Hargelsberg, dedicated to Saint Andreas, there is a beautiful garden with seating that invites the tired pilgrim to rest. Along the Chapel Path, we reach Kronstorf, characterized by riparian forests. The market town has about 3000 inhabitants and was first mentioned in records in 834 as "Granesdorf." It is interesting that the world-famous composer Anton Bruckner spent two years of his life, from 1843 to 1845, as a school assistant in Kronstorf (building directly below the church). Cheerfully, we set off again and head toward Enns. At the Enns power plant, we cross the bridge and continue to the town center of Ernsthofen. The church in Ernsthofen, an early Baroque hall church, originally stood on the bank of the Enns, was dismantled in 1662 and rebuilt at its current location. Above the church begins a wonderful hiking trail through bright deciduous forest, which takes us high above the town of Ernsthofen and offers us great views of the route traveled so far and the Enns river. Passing several beautiful chapels, the trail leads down into a hollow near Weinzierl, after which the final sprint (unfortunately along the federal road) to Haag begins. In the town of Haag, the hardships are quickly forgotten when seeing the late Gothic fortified church built between 1432 and 1485. Particularly active travelers can end the day with a visit to the animal park (next to Salaberg Castle).

Popis trasy OÖ Mariazellerweg: C: 2nd stage: St. Florian - Haag

We leave the St. Florian Monastery heading south on circular route no. 4, which we follow on paved field paths via Kogl, Unterweidlham, Oberweidlham to Hausleiten. From there continue on the bike path until shortly before the village of Winkling, where we turn east and arrive directly at Hausmanning. Here we follow the local hiking trail to the right until the parish church of Hargelsberg, leave the town heading east, pass the Krug Chapel at Pirchhorn, and continue until we reach the expressway, then follow a field path to the right south to an underpass. Through the underpass and straight eastwards to Kronstorf. At the parish church, we join the Enns bike path, which we follow via Grub to the Enns. We cross the river on the power plant bridge and come to Ernsthofen. From the parish church, a trail leads uphill and south to Loderleiten. Via small streets, you come to Weinzierl and continue to the heavily trafficked state road L85; if staying overnight in Haag, follow this road into the town center. Alternatively, from the sewage treatment plant next to the state road, you can follow hiking trail 493 to the Haag city zoo near Salaberg.
