Popis
A glance into the kitchen of the Landgasthaus Bsteh in Wulzeshofen reveals: With calm and deliberation, that's how it's done. Landlord Markus Bsteh is efficient and always thoughtful. He succeeds brilliantly in combining the tried and tested with new ideas. Guests are treated to contemporary Weinviertel cuisine. The high-quality meat comes from the Mistelbach district and finds its way directly to the restaurant. Fresh herbs are even more readily available in the kitchen. Thanks to a green thumb, the Bsteh family's rose and herb garden is thriving. Its yield is not only used to season the dishes. Unusual but extraordinarily delicious jam creations are made. The varieties "apricot with tarragon" and "strawberry with rose petals" are among the flagship products. All sorts of other things are also made, and it's worth taking a look at the in-house grocery store with compote, liqueur, vinegar and herb mixtures.
Model business in the Weinviertel
The inn in Pulkautal has existed for over 200 years. The Bsteh family has been serving down-to-earth pub cuisine since 1972. Landlord Markus Bsteh took over the business in 2005 and raised it to a new level together with his parents. Without exaggerating: The country inn is not only a major player in Lower Austrian pub culture, it also sets the pace. The cream soup of sun-ripened tomatoes with basil pesto is highly recommended. The softly braised roast beef is served with napkin dumplings and cranberries. The baked curd cheese with marinated berries and rose petal ice cream is a hot tip for dessert. These delicacies are best enjoyed in the courtyard under 100-year-old chestnut trees.
