Kirchenwirt Maria Schutz
Hostinec / pohostinstvíPopis
The Kirchenwirt is located in the idyllic village of Maria Schutz next to the famous pilgrimage church. From the terrace you have a unique view of the Rax-Schneeberg region. The innkeepers attach great importance to regional cuisine and therefore only use ingredients that have a short delivery route wherever possible.
The Kirchenwirt is particularly famous for its Klosterkrapfen, which are baked according to an old family recipe right in front of the guests in the Klosterkrapfenkuchl. Whether traditionally filled with apricots or preferably with vanilla or nougat cream - the giant doughnuts taste delicious and are known far beyond the Vienna Alps.
Maria Schutz is the destination of many pilgrims. In addition to the basilica and the Passionist monastery, the procession route leading to the Lourdes grotto is a place of peace and contemplation, but hikers and holidaymakers also get their money's worth. The Kirchenwirt is the perfect starting point for hiking tours to the Sonnwendstein, Maria Schutz's local mountain, and to the Semmering. The best way to spend the night is in one of the comfortable rooms or in one of the spacious apartments and enjoy the special atmosphere and nature early in the morning.
