Aussichtsturm Blockheide
Rozhledna
Popis
The viewing tower in the Blockheide Nature Park is a very special vantage point: at a height of 30 meters, it offers a beautiful view of the Gmünd Bay. The renovated water reservoir from 1908 is also the park's information centerpiece: it has been converted into an exhibition space with a store and buffet.
The permanent diorama exhibition "The Birth of the Wobbly Stones" can be seen in the outer ring, which serves as a staircase. It illustrates the geological development of the Bohemian Massif in an understandable and fascinating way. The interior under the tower ascent is often used for vernissages by local Waldviertel artists.
