Edlesberger See

Popis
The idyllic Edlesberger See lake in Martinsberg, near Gutenbrunn in the south-western Waldviertel, is a paradise for nature lovers. Nestled between forests, meadows and moors, the pond with its overhanging pine trees is reminiscent of the lake landscapes of Scandinavia. In the 18th century, it was originally used as a water reservoir to float timber - the romantic cone house is a relic from this time.
The water of the lake has a reddish shimmer - caused by natural colorants from the surrounding wet meadows and ferrous rock. Nevertheless, the water quality remains excellent. Around the lake, numerous hiking trails such as the See-Waldweg, the Edlesberger Runde or the Lebensweg (Kremstalweg & Ysper-Weitental-Weg) invite you to take walks and tours through the varied landscape.
Anglers will also find the best conditions here: Lake Edlesberg has not been fished for over 50 years and is stocked with around two tons of fish every year - including pike, zander, vendace, brown trout, rainbow trout and lake trout. Fishing is permitted all year round with a valid fishing license.
Whether for hiking, fishing or relaxing - Lake Edlesberg is a peaceful retreat for connoisseurs and nature lovers. Dogs are welcome and the lake offers unforgettable impressions of the Waldviertel landscape all year round.
