Langlaufgebiet Mitterbach am Erlaufsee

Mitterbach is ideally located for a great mountain experience: the small village is not only at the foot of the action-packed ski area on the Gemeindealpe, but also in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park and just 5 km from Mariazell. Cross-country skiers also benefit from the good location, as in addition to the 3 km long Erlauf trail, they also have access to the 8 km long World Championship trail in St. Sebastian/Mariazell via a connecting trail - resulting in an impressive total length of 12 kilometers.

The entrance to the slightly ascending, 3.5 km long Erlaufloipe in Mitterbach is located opposite the valley station of the Mitterbach cable cars at the Alpenbad. The trail leads through the charming landscape of the nature park community of Mitterbach am Erlaufsee and repeatedly offers views of the Gemeindealpe and the Ötscher. A connecting trail leads to the trails to St. Sebastian (total length approx. 12 km).
The Kapschloipe (5 km) at the Moarhof, a challenging trail, is only groomed for racing events.
