Lebendes Handwerksmuseum
Muzeum, Umělecké řemeslo
Popis
The basic idea was to preserve old crafts that were still practiced here until recently and to bring them closer to both young people and interested visitors.
This museum could only be created because there is still something here in St. Leonhard that is becoming increasingly rare in our high-tech world - a functioning village community. This museum was built or rebuilt in over 17,000 volunteer hours.
Experience the old craft techniques and rural way of life! In the craft demonstrations, craftsmen show how people used to make everyday products with simple tools.
- The demonstrations include: Blacksmithing, tailoring, cobbling, weaving, woodworking, twisting buttons and lace-making.
- Rural work such as scything, threshing and straw covering can also be seen.
- Children will have lots of fun carving rake teeth, in the children's workshop and in the energy petting zoo.
- The typical women's areas of the time, such as laundry, kitchen utensils, spinning and bread baking, are also on display.
- At the reconstructed baking oven, so-called "Feuerflecken" can be tasted on the demonstration Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm!
Groups (from 15 people) can also visit and see demonstrations on other dates by booking in advance on (T) +43 2987 24133 or by e-mail: handwerksmuseum@aon.at'. If you wish, you can also order the "Feuerflecken" when you book.
