The MalzWelt in Biberbach is a fascinating excursion destination in Lower Austria's Mostviertel region. It is located in the middle of the farm's own organic fields, where, among other things, rare ancient grain varieties are grown. Visitors have the unique opportunity to experience the entire process of organic malt production - from the organically grown grain to malting and the finished sprouted grain ice cream products using the GABA method.
In the modern malting plant, it is clearly explained how the organic malt is produced and what influence it has on the taste. The malt is used for bread, beer and distillates, among other things. A special highlight is the subsequent tasting of the various malts.
Whisky & vodka distillery
The Whisky & Vodka Distillery is located directly adjacent to the MalzWelt. Some of the malt produced is processed into mash here. In the impressive distillery, visitors gain exciting insights into the art of organic spirit production and can taste various organically produced whiskies as well as fine brandies, gin, vodka, rum and liqueurs. For our younger visitors, we offer a selection of different fruit juices to try instead of whisky. The guided tours of the distillery are both educational and entertaining and offer an exceptional opportunity to learn more about this traditional craft.
In the adjoining store, visitors can purchase fine, organically produced whiskies, brandies, gin, rum, vodka, liqueurs and other regional specialties and take a piece of the region home with them. Our sprouted products made from ancient grains such as emmer, einkorn and naked oats can also be purchased here.
