Přírodní zážitek
Popis
Opposite the Protestant church in Naßwald is a very special park.
28 native trees - each of which symbolizes one of the 28 Protestant parishes in Lower Austria.
All the trees are labeled and freely accessible - a quiet, green place of encounter, history and faith.
The history
In the 19th century, the remote wet forest was developed by the timber industry. The visionary logging entrepreneur Georg Hubmer, also known as the "Rax King", brought numerous workers into the valley - many of them from Protestant regions.
Georg Hubmer had a school and church built in 1826 - an important step for the Protestant community in Naßwald.
The park bears the name of Paul Weiland (1949-2015), an Austrian theologian.
