Popis
The eventful history of the spa town of Baden is documented over an area of 350m², from the Neolithic Age to the Roman period, the era of castles and knights and right up to the 20th century. Particular attention is paid to Baden's heyday in the Biedermeier period, when the emperor and his family spent their summer holidays here and politicians and important artists came to the spa town.
The core of the collection goes back to the Baden physician, writer, naturalist and art lover Anton Franz Rollett (1778-1841). The "exotic" collections (Egyptian section, Dr. Gall's skull collection, ethnological collection and much more), which date back to Rollett's idea of a universal museum, form a separate exhibition complex.
