Embedded in the hilly landscape in the heart of the Waldviertel lies the approximately 2 km long, river-like Thurnberg reservoir.

The Thurnberg reservoir is the third and smallest of the three Kamp reservoirs and is surrounded by forest, rocks and reeds between the two villages of Krumau and Thurnberg - the latter also gave the lake its name. Here, too, you will find ideal conditions for fishing , because just like the Ottenstein and Dobra reservoirs, the lake is one of the waters with the most fish in Austria. In many places, especially in Krumlov, you can do this directly from the shore.

There are also various other leisure activities around the lake. The surrounding area can be explored on the hiking and cycling trails and the Thurnberg reservoir is also ideal for swimming - the large sunbathing lawn at the dam, for example, which is accessible at all times, is very popular. Rowing boats, pedal boats, electric boats and canoes can also be hired at the nearby campsite in Krumau from April to October.
