In the Theater an der Mauer, in the old town of Waidhofen an Thaya, a high-quality program awaits you all year round - from thrillers to comedies, everything is on offer here. Workshops and seminars for children and adults are also organized.

The TAM - Theater an der Mauer was established on the private initiative of Ewald Polacek by converting an old outbuilding in the courtyard of the house at Wiener Straße 9. Since January 1998, theater, dance and music performances have taken place regularly, which have earned the TAM a highly regarded place in Austria's independent theater scene. In-house productions and guest performances by external artists regularly provide a high-quality program from the most diverse areas of contemporary theater art.

Medieval city wall

The TAM - Theater an der Mauer - is located in the old town ensemble of Waidhofen/Thaya in the Waldviertel and takes its name from the medieval town wall, which also forms the long wall of the theater hall. The TAM was built on private initiative and entirely from own funds by Ewald Polacek by converting an old outbuilding in the courtyard of the house at Wiener Straße 9. Theater, dance and music performances have been held regularly since January 1998.

In-house productions and guest performances

The TAM offers its own productions with children, young people and adults in collaboration with the independent theater scene and guest performances with artists from Austria and abroad.
