Waldviertler Eisenbahnmuseum Sigmundsherberg

Our collection includes various exhibits from the history of the railroad, such as historical operating equipment from the time of the monarchy, the German Reichsbahn and from the Second World War to the State Treaty.
We are also proud to be able to show you the furnishings of a historic waiting room and the control room, the signal box, a boiler house dating back to 1880, a track bicycle, trolleys and, of course, historic locomotives.

Around 600 exhibits are presented in three rooms. The collection includes various exhibits from the history of the railroad from the time of the monarchy, the German Reichsbahn and from the Second World War to the State Treaty. Another highlight is a model of the largest prisoner-of-war camp of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

We also have a model of the largest prison er-of-war camp of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy (on a scale of 1:360) as well as regular special exhibitions on various railway-related topics.
