On a walk with fascinating views across the Danube to the Marchfeld, past historical sites and some of the most beautiful cellar ensembles in Austria, our guests learn more about Höflein, its history and the wine.

The trail also offers plenty for children to discover. The two-part information boards contain games, puzzles, lots of pictures and short texts suitable for children.

Each board also features a dialect expression that fits in with the theme.

Circular trail length: approx. 2.5 km

Walking time: approx. 1 hour

Trail suitability: all year round for wine lovers and families, usable with baby carriages, wheelchairs and for people with walking disabilities.

The 11 display boards are made of Plexiglas and Corten steel, the color of which reflects the colors of the vineyards. Like the vines, the shape of the panels grows directly out of the ground, their asymmetrical form a response to the gnarled vine. Text and images were printed on Plexiglas. Its transparency allows the carrier material to shine through, creating a harmonious overall picture.

A die-cut in the upper part of the panels gives the location number and one of Höflein's historical names, which have changed over time - from Hovelin to Höfflein to today's Höflein (also to be found in the village chronicle).
