The leisure and sports community of Lanzenkirchen is part of the experiential region Bucklige Welt - Thermengemeinden. On the Katzelsdorf-Bad Erlach stage of the "Am Wiener Alpenbogen" hiking trail lie 3 local trails that start in Lanzenkirchen and lead directly to the Wiener Alpenbogen path. They invite pleasure hikers to explore the landscape variety of the experiential region. The Hauerweg Lanzenkirchen-Rosaliengebirge leads for 5.7 km from the center of Lanzenkirchen to the district of Ofenbach. The path is ideal for those seeking tranquility, as it passes through sparsely built-up and mostly wooded areas. Uphill to the ridge of the Rosaliengebirge, at the border to Burgenland, the trail offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains, such as Rax, Semmering, or Hohe Wand. If you want to refresh yourself in the forest before hiking, you can do so in various establishments directly on the path. For example, in Lanzenkirchen, the Cafe Restaurant Adrienn and in Ofenbach the inn "Zur Burgenländerin" invite you to linger. No above-average fitness is required, and there are no major difficulties to overcome to enjoy this nature trail.

Popis trasy Hauerweg Lanzenkirchen-Rosaliengebirge (LA 2)
The route starts at the municipal office, where you turn left into Schulgasse. Then you continue straight ahead along Ofenbachweg past the village church towards Rosalia. The Leitha river is crossed, and you follow the road. At the intersection with the roundabout, go straight ahead to reach the Ofenbach main street. In the district of Ofenbach, turn left onto Hauerweg. Here, you go uphill with a beautiful view of Rax, Semmering, and Hohe Wand. At the end of Hauerweg, turn right onto the forest road (Tellernweg) which first ascends gently and then steeper through the forest. After two hairpin bends, you get another magnificent panoramic view. After a sharp right turn, continue uphill for another 500 m, then turn left over a small forest clearing to our destination, where there is the option to continue hiking along the Wiener Alpenbogen trail.

Drive on the A2 from the direction of Vienna or Graz to the Wr.Neustadt motorway interchange to follow the signs on S4 towards Hungary/Eisenstadt/Mattersburg/Wr.Neustadt-South. Take the Lanzenkirchen exit on the S4. Turn right onto Frohsdorfer Straße, continue on Wr. Neustädter Straße, straight onto Kleinwolkersdorf main street/Lanzenkirchen main street. Turn right onto Schulgasse; the municipal office is on the right.
