Popis
From Kirchberg, it heads north towards Oberstockstall. A hollow way, typical for the loess soil found in this region, leads out of Oberstockstall. Over the "Winkelberg" it goes to the village of Ruppersthal. The museum of the composer Ignaz Joseph Pleyel invites you to take a break. Those who wish can take this opportunity to walk a few meters into a spectacular hollow way with high loess walls. Uphill and downhill, it continues towards Baumgarten. Along this section, there are several viewpoints inviting you to linger. The route leads down through vineyards into the village of Baumgarten am Wagram, and further along a side road to Großweikersdorf. Here, we follow a beautiful gravel path in complete tranquility along the course of the Schmida. At Tiefenthal, we return to asphalt and cycle further on flat and quiet side roads to Stetteldorf.
It loops through Stetteldorf, past Stetteldorf Castle with its historic garden, which overlooks the Danube plain from the edge of the terrain. Idyllically, the path follows the Schmidamühlbach towards the west back to Kirchberg. In Absberg, we follow a long and beautiful wine cellar lane of the Wagram region, where you can find a few peaceful spots for a break. Just a few pedal strokes later, you reach Königsbrunn. Here, the path changes to the upper part of the Wagram edge, through the wine cellar lane and past the "Naschgarten". With views of the Danube plain, we cycle back comfortably to Kirchberg, past the Alchemists' Park and back to the starting point at the Gebietsvinothek. This route is also excellent for guests arriving by bike from Tulln and joining the tour in Stetteldorf.
