Detaily pro: Municipal boundary path Maria Anzbach

Krátký popis

If you take this route, you get to know Maria Anzbach. The path runs almost along the municipal boundary and also leads into the town center. Maria Anzbach shows itself from several beautiful sides here. The individual landscapes differ significantly from each other, and each section of the route has its own charm. For this demanding route, you should take your time to be able to really enjoy it.

Popis

Maria Anzbach is a pilgrimage site with a long history and impressive landscape. At the renovated market square in the center of Maria Anzbach are the inn "Zum Goldenen Löwen", which has been run since 1779, the old schoolhouse, and the Goldammer Museum. The artist has held many exhibitions at home and abroad. A highlight is the pilgrimage church "Maria Anzbach Zur Mutter der Barmherzigkeit". On this route, you can explore the different landscapes of Maria Anzbach, each of which has its own charm. To the south of the municipality is the 516m high Kohlreithberg, from where you can enjoy a fabulous view of the Anzbach valley at the newly erected Millennium Cross. To the north of the municipality is the 469m high Buchberg, where at the Buchberg lookout tower rebuilt in 2004, you can see from the Ötscher to the Waldviertel. The lookout also houses many historical photos and some interactive display panels. Geologically, the mountain itself consists of the so-called Buchberger conglomerate - limestone and flysch pebbles from the Limestone Alps. An outcrop at Burgstall makes this visible. When hiking around Maria Anzbach, you mostly walk through natural forest where the European beech and spruce dominate. In places, the path passes through extensive pastures of the cattle and horse farms in the region. Near the village of Hart and on the Eichberg, you encounter Roman-era barrow graves. For resting, the picturesque wayside shrine Rotes Kreuz invites you, which stages itself in front of the Lengbach valley.

Popis trasy Municipal boundary path Maria Anzbach

The route starts at the main square of Maria Anzbach. Here you will find several inns, as well as the worthwhile Goldammer Museum, and not far away the Schönbeck Mill. You start heading west on the main street, then turn into Sportplatzpromenade and reach Eichengasse above the sports field. At the end of the built-up area, turn right and from there follow the red marking. The path leads into Birkengasse, then over a field path into Tulpengasse, and at the end of Maria Anzbach into Johannesbergstraße. Here you have to turn left to reach Burgstall via a forest path. There, follow the blue marking to the summit. Here you will find the Buchberg lookout tower, which offers a dreamlike view, and a shelter. You go back, keep left, and after about 500m turn right onto a forest path. At the end you march right, pass through Oed, and at the village end of Oed follow the blue marking to the left and reach the peak of Eichberg after about 2km. Then you pass barrow graves and reach Erlaa. At the end of the village, the path turns right and climbs into the forest. Here you reach the intersection with access no. 1 to the Eichgrabener Höhenwanderweg, which you now follow downhill. This leads to Martinstraße in Stein, follow the marking straight ahead into Große Steinstraße, Klosterfriedhofstraße and finally Klosterstraße to Furth. At the main street turn right and walk on a footpath beside the road to Unter-Oberndorf. At the beginning of the village, cross the street and go left up Huttenstraße. After about 1 km you reach Ottenheim. At the next intersection, turn left, then pass Burweg and reach Knagg. Here you follow the blue marking over Götzwiesen onwards to Kohlreith, where you turn right and reach the Kohlreith summit. After the beautiful view over the Anzbach valley, return to the intersection and go left, following the blue marking to Hart. There, hike right and reach the wayside shrine Rotes Kreuz near Haagen after a short forest stretch. Here turn right and follow the green marking downhill through the forest to Pameth. After a while, a blue marking joins, which you follow to Hofstatt station. From there proceed via Karolinengasse, Hauptstraße, and Weinhebergasse to the Anzbach, where you turn right onto a small path that leads back to the sports field.
