So close to the city and yet in the middle of nature! Cross the destinations Vienna Woods and Mostviertel with a mountain or gravel bike - pure variety awaits you on your active holiday trip in wonderfully relaxing surroundings. The necessary energy for the elevation meters and kilometers is provided by numerous places to stop along the route, where you can get to know the region from its culinary side. Look forward to four stages and feel the wind between the vineyards, in the forest, near the water, and in the middle of the mountains. Sheep cheese, camels, natural bathing lakes, and much more – the choice is yours! On the way back, you can comfortably ride the Himmelstreppe of the Mariazell Railway.

This route also includes some businesses (e.g., Country Inn "Zur Linde", Klosterwirt) as well as accommodation providers (e.g., Hotel Wienerwaldhof, Schlosspark Mauerbach). More businesses are linked on the map and can be viewed directly. There are also some excursion tips.

Popis trasy Multi-day route Klosterneuburg - Mariazell

Located north of the federal capital, the route leads from the charming Klosterneuburg along various MTB sections of the Vienna Woods to the Wienerwaldhof near Tullnerbach and on the second day further to Brand-Laaben, a small quiet village in the Elsbeere-Vienna Woods region. From there, the route leads out of the Vienna Woods destination and via the Gölser and Traisen valley bike paths into the alpine Mostviertel to the second stop in St. Aegyd am Neuwalde. In the Göller area and near Annaberg, the last section with Hubertus and Erlauf lakes offers perfect opportunities to cool down and enjoy nature. Výstroj

A safe and functional mountain bike is a prerequisite for all routes. Helmet and gloves protect in case of falls and can be supplemented by knee and elbow protectors on single/shared trails. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and adequate tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails from the red difficulty level, a full suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, tire levers, pump, and spare tube help in case of a breakdown. Sufficient provisions (drinks and food) should be carried along, as well as a mobile phone and wind/rain jacket.

Bezpečnostní informace

Before each ride, check the functionality of brakes, tires, and suspension fork/damper. Always ride with hazard awareness and controlled speed, and adapt the route choice to the riding ability of the group and the terrain. Fair play rules must be observed at all times.
