Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of hydroelectric power generation!

Austria's oldest and fourth most powerful Danube power station is located directly on the Danube cycle path and has an exciting exhibition on the construction of the power station, its history, the turbines and much more. Models, short films and bicycle simulators will familiarize you with the diverse functions of the power plant.

Young researchers can use interactive stations to discover the visitor power plant in their own children's tours, generate electricity themselves and control the energy production of several power plants.

After the guided tour in the power plant building, the mighty ship lock can be visited outside, where information is provided about the lockage process, the tasks of the lock supervisors and navigation on the Danube.

Western railway line ÖBB: get off at Ybbs an der Donau station, bus in the direction of Ybbs Zentrum (change required at Ybbs bus station) or in the direction of Persenbeug-Gottsdorf (direct journey); whether a change is necessary depends on the respective journey time! Exit bus stop: Ybbs junction Donaudorf (opposite the Weinberger bakery)
