Erlaufstausee

The Erlauf reservoir is undoubtedly one of the region's insider tips. Along, around and in the immediate vicinity of the lake there are beautiful hiking and walking trails that invite you to relax and regenerate. In addition to the Erlaufstausserunde large and small, the Erlaufstausee forms the most important nature park entrance to Mitterbach. It is only a few minutes from the town center to the Erlaufstausse nature park entrance. The "Erlaufstauseeschänke" snack bar is also located here. Even non-hikers should have been here once. Here you can enjoy the famous roast with a perfect crust and homemade cream slices that are not to be missed. Plus the magnificent view of the mighty Ötscher.

The Erlauf reservoir is also well-known among fish lovers and is therefore a popular fishing lake. More information and the fishing map can be obtained online or at the Mitterbach tourist office. There is a small educational trail with information boards on the subject of fish for all young fishermen.
